My Hometown
Wiesbaden, the capital of Hesse, is not only one of the oldest spa towns in Europe but also my home for over 25 years. This city has a unique atmosphere, blending tradition and modernity in a remarkable way. I know the streets, squares, and hidden corners of this city like the back of my hand, and I want to share my favorite recommendations and tips with you—perfect for a visit or even to rediscover Wiesbaden as a local.
Spa Charm and More
Known for its thermal springs and stunning architecture, Wiesbaden offers much more than just wellness. The Kurpark is a beautiful spot for a stroll, especially in spring when the flowers bloom and the gardens are at their best. Wilhelmstraße, also known as the “Rue,” invites you to shop and enjoy a coffee while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. Not far away lies the magnificent Kurhaus with its adjacent casino—a highlight for anyone looking for a touch of glamour.
Hidden Gems and Favorite Spots
As someone who has lived here for so long, I naturally have my insider tips. The Neroberg is a must—not just for the fantastic view but also for the charming Nerobergbahn, in operation since 1888. For food lovers, I recommend the Rheingau district with its small but excellent restaurants and bars offering everything from regional cuisine to international specialties. And if you love nature, make sure to visit the Fasanerie—an idyllic wildlife park on the outskirts of the city, especially great for families.
Stay tuned because I’ll be regularly sharing more highlights and personal recommendations to show you the best of Wiesbaden! 😊
